A United Auto Workers union official confirmed Monday that TJ Sabula, the Ford worker who famously yelled “pedophile protector” at President Donald Trump during his January visit to the Dearborn plant, still has his job and “has no discipline on his record,” the Detroit News reports.
Trump responded to Sabula during the visit by raising his middle finger and saying, “Fuck you.”
“TJ, we’ve got your back,” UAW Vice President Laura Dickerson said during a speech to union representatives Monday morning in Washington, D.C.
“In that moment, we saw what the president really thinks about working people,” Dickerson said. “As UAW members, we speak truth to power. We don’t just protect rights — we exercise them.”
When Sabula was suspended, two GoFundMe pages raised more than $810,000 for him in what amounted to a national statement of support for Sabula for taking on Trump.
